I could not put it down. I just wanted to keep finding out about The boys lives. It was very captivating. I felt like I was in the room with them and just wanted to shake that mom, she made me so angry 😡. Very sad to find out the dad just let the abuse happen.
At the beginning I got a little confused about how the 2 boys were connected.
Enjoyed this book from beginning to end. I could picture everything in my mind like a movie.
A story brought to life so we can understand the challenge & the dream to succeed.
Keep on following your dream of writing for all to enjoy. Nothing can compare to a book
that entertains & educates at the same time.

He book really didn't catch my attention too much, the beginning could've used some more flavor, and it jumped around a lot threw out the whole book. There were parts I did like, but over all it didn't captivate me very much.
This book had me hooked from the first page. The only reason I put it down was because my eyes got tired and started blurring the words. The author gave the perfect amount of description and history to keep me interested. I never lost interest in what would happen next. I will say that I had hoped Jamal and Wali had somehow survived. I will be on the lookout for more books by this author.
This is a first-person touching tale of broken families, a war-torn country, and the energy that drives us all to seek that which we desire, which in this case is freedom from political oppression in his homeland. The character, Arman, finds solace from an abusive adoptive home and the guns and bombs of an everyday existence in Afghanistan through his passion of reading and writing short stories. Grabbing at a chance to escape to a new life in London, he takes the reader on a journey of his experiences while passing through several countries, as well as the regional cultures and the harrowing dangers he faces along the way to his final destination. An educational and interesting read, indeed.
This book was absolutely rivoting. I just couldn't put it down, you just wanted to keep reading to find out what happened next. It was written in a way that you almost feel you are right there with the characters going through it all with them. Great book, great story.
