The Labyrinth Acropolis Series Book 2 eBook RK Ryals Eden Crane Designs
The Labyrinth, second book in the Acropolis series is even better than the first! Where at first the hyrbid demon kids at the Acropolis school were looking for freedom from prejudice and persecution, now they are on a new journey...one toward securing a haven, a new kingdom for those of half human and half demon blood. In the final book of the Redemption series (of which this series is a spin-off), hybrid demon Marcas Craig fought Lucifer for control of one of Hell's Outer Levels, to use as a safe haven for his kind. Now the kids from the Acropolis are invited to join this kingdom, but at a cost. They must journey through the Labyrinth, and secure the spear of destiny, which was used to pierce the side of Jesus Christ when he hung on the cross. Because it is stained with His blood, it is a powerful weapon that will secure Marcas' place as the hybrid king, and keep his kingdom safe.Wow, what an amazing journey our hybrid group goes through in this book. Danger and drama surround them, forcing them to come together...which isn't easy for demons, but these hybrids' human sides are working overtime as they band together as a unit to make it through the terrifying trials of the Labyrinth, at the end of which is the spear of destiny.
Just as in the first book, Conor Reinhardt is a golden hero, a man of conviction. He knows that he started this thing with the hybrids, and will go into Hell with them to see it through. Despite the tremendous cost to his own way of life and family, Conor is steadfast in his protection of the hybrids. In this book, he has had to not only deal with the consequences of things he's done in the past and come to peace over them, he also must come to terms with his feelings for Emma...and all the hyrbids for that matter. A person who was once so judgmental has learned about the shades of gray between black and white, and this revelation adds much depth to Conor's character, developing him in such a way that he was the true star of this book.
It was nice to see Emma learning more about her powers and abilities, as well as finding a family with her fellow hybrids. I hope in the next book, that she really gets her mojo on the powers front, because I'm ready to see her kick some ass!!!
The book is a roller coaster ride of emotions, full of deep insights revealed in the characters through the author's poetic narration. She deals with the topic of death and grieving so poignantly that I was brought to tears when friends were lost. Another powerful work by R.K. Ryals, and definitely one of her best by far!

The Labyrinth Acropolis Series Book 2 eBook RK Ryals Eden Crane Designs Reviews
In the labyrinth, darkness is lurking beneath the surface, perhaps most of all we are meeting our own demon. It is much harder to forgive ourselves than others. Scars and bruises have been forming who you are becoming. However ugly would it have been, we need to embrace them and to accept as they are. It is beginning of the growth personally and collectively. This one has in it the nature of powerful healing to face our own darkest fear. I really enjoyed reading up until now, and would strongly recommend this .
After reading The Labyrinth, I am, yet again, in awe of the talent of this Author. R.K. Ryals turns out one epic series after another. In The Redemption series, you meet Conor, and learn a little about him. In The Acropolis, you learn about his life outside of Dayton and Monroe. But, in The Labyrinth, I think you really learn who he is, and what has shaped him. Emma is beginning to find her place in the new world she has been thrust into, and I really love seeing things from both POVs. The evolution of Conor, Emma, and all of the hybrids after The Acropolis is spellbinding! You learn to love characters you once thought you hated, and the underlying theme of the series is completely awesome! The Labyrinth is action packed, yet emotional and tender, all at once. Did I mention the ending? AAAAAHHHHHH!!! I highly recommend this book, this series, anything by R.K. Ryals! She hasn't let me down yet!!!
I started with the Redemption series and loved those and wanted to see Conor meet his match. I like Emma, Dee, and all of the half-demons in this book. With the way book 1 ended, I wasn't sure how this group fell in with Marcas and the other half demons. I did enjoy how it all came together, but definitely not liking the cliffhanger at the end of the book. I'm still thinking through how Conor and Will will get out of this one.
What makes this series good are the characters and their interactions. Although they are teenagers, they aren't typical teenagers and no matter what they are, they teach you that they shouldn't just be judged by their parentage which is something they cannot control. I can't wait to read book 3 and would say that some would find this series "younger" feeling than the Redemption series (even though Dayton is a teenager too). That doesn't mean it isn't worth reading. For some reason, this series doesn't feel quite as dark as the Redemption series, they are still linked and a good follow up from that series.
R.K. Ryals can do no wrong of this I'm sure. I loved the Redemption series and couldn't wait to read this series and get to know Conor better. If you want to read a book that takes you far away from normal but keeps it all believable this is it. This book contains so many different creatures but it never felt fake or made up. R.K. Ryals writes with such description that I felt like I was a part of the story battling the fights with the hybrids.
I loved all the characters in this book. Each one goes through their own struggles and comes out stronger. The personal growth the characters undergo is inspiring. To have hybrid demons go against their nature and fight together for one goal is astonishing. Emma is so inspiring. She takes whatever she is faced with head on no matter how scared she is. She is a heroine I would love my daughter to take after (fictional or not). I can't wait to see where the relationship will go for Conor and Emma. I also cried tears while reading this. The journey the characters endured came with loss and I was sad to see those characters go. It was also uplifting to see the remaining characters pick themselves up and carry on even in their sadness.
I loved this book from start to finish and can't wait for the next one in the series. If I could give this book 10 stars it would have them!
