Loved this book. The setting was wonderful and the mystery heartwrenching. You never really get past that her husband was killed 4 days into his honeymoon. As serious as the plot was, there were some very funny parts too and it was fun to watch how the heroine interacted with each of them.. With such a diverse cast of characters it was impossible to solve it on my own. So I was really shocked when I learned who the murderer actually was.

I read The Widow when it was first published and recently bought it for my . I enjoyed it as much the second time as the first time. The story kept my interest and I liked the characters.
Loved this story ! I didn’t figure out who was the killer for quite a while! I would love to read more about Abigail and Owen,also more of Mattie and Grace....really a well told story with past/ present connected- I couldn’t put it down until I finished it !
Carla is my go too for suspense! She keeps me interested and entertained. The characters and how they interact are well thought out and it's easy to follow.
I loved this book. The plot, the characters and the seem- less ease with which Carla Neggers wove this haunting story caught my attention from the first page. Another winner with complicated personal relationships. You will hate to put the book down!
Exciting suspense thriller, Abigail has been trying to solve her husband's murder for seven years. She returns to the island where he was killed and stirs things up among the locals. Fairly intense thriller, the killer was a surprise.
When I started reading this book I couldn't get into it, but a bit later it started to intrigue me. The main character, Abigail, wasn't as exciting to me as some of Carla Neggers' other main characters, and the other characters were lacking some personality. Owen and Abigail's budding and emerging romance was good but not juicy. I felt the events of the story felt rather choppy so it made the story's characters somewhat out of sync with the details. The ending was somewhat more action-packed but this book isn't one of Carla Neggers' best.
Intriguing
This stand-alone is easy to follow and difficult to put down. Editing errors, no graphic violence or drag-you-down drama.

The storyline has a paranormal aspect the reader can appreciate. Realistic procedures, actions and reactions. Believable dialogue and characters with distinct personalities.

I may re-read this story and always look forward to works by this author.
