The overall plot/storyline for this one was ok. All of the before the dark times came was awesome. We learn a lot about the world these people live in as well as about the fire children themselves. Things started to fall apart after Yulla came above ground and met Ember. There wasn't any insta love but the romance in this moved a little to quickly. It would have been better if it would have been done a little slower. The plot/story after Yulla should have been amazing but it fell short. It became heavy with action and little dialogue. Which was shame. I really wish that the publisher would have had the author do a little more with this book because it could have been amazing. But as it sits. For me it was more like a 3rd draft than a final story.

All in all I think that if this book appeals to you then you should give it a try.
